Kilmarnock Town Museum

The Kilmarnock Museum, Inc., a non-profit organization, opened in the heart of Kilmarnock on May 1, 1994. The mission of the Kilmarnock Museum is to provide a repository for the artifacts and memorabilia of the Town of Kilmarnock for the enjoyment and education of all the residents and visitors to this unque commnuity. The members and volunteers of the Museum deem it their responsibility to collect, preserve and display those things from the past that delight and intrigue us and pass them on to future generations for their benefit as well.

In 1997 the Museum purchased a mid 1800's house located at 76 Main Street, thought to be one of the oldest homes in Kilmarnocki. After extensive renovation, the Museum moved into its new home on April 10,1999. The Museum is not only proud of preserving an old area home, but of having a place where the history of the town can be preserved.

We welcome your visit to The Kilmarnock Museum and encourage you to become a member of our organization.
